Top 10 Plays?

When it gets to be that time of year when I can't sit outside on my front porch and enjoy my giant mixing bowl of Captain Crunch in the morning, I move inside and enjoy it while I catch up with SportsCenter. And as I watch the latest news on players and coaches and matchups pass by, I always hang around long enough to catch the Top 10 Plays segment. But this morning was one of those that had me re-thinking my little morning ritual. It's October, and that means baseball playoffs and lots of football. All good stuff with lots of Top 10 Plays potential. But October also means the return of hockey and some early season basketball. You can almost feel the electricity in the air, can't you? So today's Top 10 Plays featured such excitement as a goal scored on a hapless goalie and more than a few slam dunks. Wow. I love those slam dunks. I just can't get enough of a 6'5" guy slamming a basketball on a 10' rim. Now that's sheer talent. Don't get me wrong, I can't skate and I can't dunk, but if I was 6'5" and over 7' tall with arms in the air, you better believe I better be able to dunk. Yet this stuff makes it on the Top 10 Plays? I sat there and stared, knowing that the next 8 months or more are going to be filled with lame crap like this on the Top 10 Plays. Maybe those reruns of Saved By The Bell are a better bet for breakfast after all. I mean, you gotta love that Screech guy. Now that's talent.
